The crash happened around 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 in Stamford, on the northbound side between Exit 5 and Exit 6 in Stamford

According to Connecticut State Police, a tractor-trailer was traveling in the right lane, a 2005 Volvo 999 was getting off on the Exit 6 ramp, and a 2006 Acura TSX was in the center lane and trying to negotiate a curve when it collided with the truck.

The Acura also struck the Volvo 999, police said.

Responders found the driver of the Acura, 37-year-old Stamford resident, Inmer Cruz-Ramos, lying in the roadway when they arrived on the scene.

He was taken to Stamford Hospital by ambulance with serious head injuries.

The other two drivers did not report any injuries, said police.

State police said "enforcement action is pending."
